Colby’s Kidz is an entry-level hockey program designed to facilitate entry into hockey by being easily accessible and affordable. The program was created in honour of former Oilers player, Colby Cave, who passed away suddenly in 2020. Led by Oilers Alumni, kids receive instruction in a non-competitive atmosphere where games are often incorporated into training. The 6-week sessions are held at the Downtown Community Arena and kids receive a certificate of completion on their last day.
SickKids is Canada's most research-intensive children’s hospital and the largest centre dedicated to improving children's health in the country. Every day at SickKids, staff are tackling the greatest challenges in child health, from children facing cancer to failing hearts and syndromes yet to be diagnosed. The list goes on. The need is enormous. Every year, more than 100,000 children come to SickKids for life-saving care and the number continues to grow. Donations from the "Classic" will be directed specifically towards oncology research and leukemia.
